625 Boulevard Way Oakland CA 94610
625 Boulevard Way was built in 1922 by a local lumber dealer. The Jow Family purchased the house in 1950, thanks to David Jow qualifying for a G.I loan from his service on the Burma Road during WWII.
Public records show three bedrooms and one and a half baths, the interior measuring 1,966 square feet, and the exterior at .12 acre. Today the house has four bedrooms, one and a quarter bath, front screened in porch, office space, butler’s pantry, formal dining room and living room with original fireplace. Not only is there an attached one car garage, there is also a detached garage behind the house on Kenmore Avenue. That building was rented in the 1950’s for $6 a month. Much later, the family considered having it torn down but were advised that it should be left standing in case the next owners wanted to convert the space into a studio.
Having been in the family for seventy-one years, much attention was given to major details, without changing the original charm. Newer $100,000 foundation, furnace, updated electrical, and sewer lateral compliant. The lower basement area has tons of storage space and then some and adjoins to the attached garage.
To enhance the original beauty of this early century grand dame, the original hardwood floors have been refinished, peeling, and dated wallpaper removed, walls repaired, and fresh paint added throughout! Personal opportunities/preferences however remain for the new owners. Now it’s your turn to fulfill your dreams!
